The Role – Business Development Manager

This business development manager role is a field based solution sales role taking over a high grossing territory, with some individual clients spending over £100k pa. You will be tasked with selling the company’s product range into kitchen, furniture and bathroom manufacturers. You will be expected to grow the existing turnover by seeking out and securing new key accounts. The role involves:

  • Selling a globally recognised brand
  • Selling high quality branded products
  • 50% Account Management and 50% New Business
  • Securing large new business orders and agreeing contracts
  • Growing existing accounts to increase sales
  • Self-generating appointments with OEMs and Manufacturers
  • Autonomous role managing your own time and diary
  • Territory covers Kent, Sussex, Surrey, Hampshire and Oxfordshire
  • Selling via face to face meetings – often over several meetings
  • Working for an open and friendly manager
  • Excellent training and support infrastructure

The Person – Business Development Manager

The essential skills needed for this Business Development Manager role are as follows; Experience selling into OEMs or Manufacturers;  ability to build long-term relationships; Capable of solutions sales over several meetings; Must be professionally sales trained in new business and account management; demonstrable track record of generating new business and key accounts with large order values of £50k plus; Previous experience of managing a large geographical territory; Experience of selling and influencing at all levels; Target driven, with focus and believes in nothing less than 100%; Must be passionate and be willing to immerse yourself into the business; Excellent communication questioning and listening skills.
